It has been a busy few months working on several new collections that will be released in the new year.
If you have been following my work on Instagram or Facebook you’ll recognize the new Collection; “shadows”. I am planning this to be the first of the new works to be released all with a new store right here on my website.
“Shadows” has been an idea I’ve been toying with for the last year or so, but hadn’t been able to figure out the right angle to approach.
The main concept behind the narrative is all we see and all we know are only shadows of what we are told of the old. Later, this last weekend I was reading a new book, “the greatest story ever told”, by Lawrence M. Krauss, and I discovered this was also an idea brought up by Plato in “The Republic”, a section called “ The Allegory of The Cave” .
I was shocked to see how well this fit and described my own narrative for ‘shadows’. Odd too I thought as I had never read either of these before, even though I had meant to.
A great quote that Mr. Krauss selected from Plato, I’ll share as well, as I feel it best describes everything about the upcoming new collection:
“Better to be the poor servant of a poor master, and to endure anything, rather than think as they do and live after their manner.”
I can’t wait to release this new collection and share the new site with everyone.
