A Face with a Thousand Eyes
There has always been a gravitational pull towards portrait making. From the very earliest days of training with drawing, portraits were always my go to... of course, back in those days, I was determined for realism and perfection of technique and medium. Portrait work is the biggest challenge any artist can attempt. The face holds secrets and mystery, a pure technical translation works sure, but to capture a soul... that is by far a different method of training all together.
